Venturing far beyond the neon-lit urban sprawl, the Sai Kung & New Territories Coastal Wilderness Cruise is an immersive three-day expedition into Hong Kong’s spectacular natural sanctuaries. Tracing the dramatic, volcanic coastlines of the UNESCO Global Geopark and heading deep into the mirror-like waters of Double Haven, this multi-day voyage reveals a world of ancient rock formations, hidden sea caves, and untouched marine parks. For nature lovers and explorers, it is a rare opportunity to experience the ultimate peace of Hong Kong's true wilderness while enjoying extravagant onboard comfort.
Day 1: The voyage departs Victoria Harbor, sailing northeast toward the rugged Sai Kung Peninsula. The cruiser navigates the dramatic waters of Port Shelter, weaving past uninhabited volcanic islands and sea caves shaped over millions of years. Guests step ashore at Sharp Island to witness its famous "Pineapple Bun Rocks" and, tide permitting, walk the spectacular natural sand tombolo. The vessel anchors for the night in a calm, emerald bay near Tai Long Wan.
Day 2: Wake up to a pristine wilderness sunrise before cruising further north into Double Haven (Yan Chau Tong). Renowned for its glassy, protected waters and dramatic crimson sedimentary rocks, this marine park is often described as a miniature Guilin-on-the-sea. Guests can take a tender ride to explore Lai Chi Wo, a 400-year-old Hakka walled village surrounded by a thriving mangrove forest and ancient feng shui woods. The evening is spent anchored in the serene, wind-sheltered waters of the haven under a brilliant canopy of stars.
Day 3: The final morning begins with a relaxed paddleboard or snorkel session in the exceptionally calm waters of Double Haven. As the mid-morning approaches, the vessel hoists anchor for a leisurely return cruise. Take in the sweeping views of the New Territories coastline and the outer reaches of Mirs Bay before a smooth afternoon arrival back at Victoria Harbor.
A completely all-inclusive culinary experience is prepared daily by our onboard chef. Guests enjoy fresh breakfast spreads and elegant multi-course dinners on deck, showcasing both contemporary international dishes and local Cantonese flavors. Lunches are thoughtfully curated, featuring packed artisan lunches for onshore village and trail exploration, and fresh seasonal spreads on board. Refined coffees, teas, fine wines, and local beers are available complimentary throughout the journey.
This multi-day wilderness cruise operates bi-weekly. Sturdy, high-traction walking shoes are highly recommended for the village walks and trail exploration. Private, fully air-conditioned cabins with en-suite bathrooms ensure exceptional overnight comfort. Guests are advised to bring swimwear, a towel, sun protection, and a light jacket for cooler evening sea breezes. Early booking is essential as cabin space is strictly limited.
